The Naga is a serpent that lurks in a Naga Courtyard. It appears as an immense green snake-like creature with a human-like face. Its scales have subtle hints of all sorts of other colors.
Combat[edit]
The Naga is the first boss of the Twilight Forest, as you cannot fight a Lich before you defeat a Naga. In terms of behaviour, the Naga will destroy any scenery it runs into, and will glare at blocks you stand on if it cannot reach you. It should be a good fight for an adventurer with Iron armor and weapons. In combat, it moves extremely quickly, circling its target before making several charge attacks. Because of its speed, it is advisable to bring a ranged weapon such as a bow to the battle. It is also advised to bring a Shield, as timing a block when it charges head-first into you will knock both of you back and stun the Naga for a moment, making it immobile with stars around its head. During this time, you can get a number of hits in to weaken it. It is advised to not block the Naga's dash when you see rage particles over it's head, as it will damage you, and temporarily disable your shield. Instead, sprint-jump to the right of it very quickly.
As you fight the Naga, it will begin to lose segments, which drift loose and disappear. As it loses segments, the Naga will begin to move faster and faster.
The Naga is bound to its Courtyard and will lose interest in targets outside of it. Strange magic protects it from attacks from outside the Courtyard boundaries, unless it falls into the void somehow. The Naga will begin to heal if not attacked for a short time.
Treasure[edit]
The Naga will drop about 6-12 Naga Scales, which can be used to make Naga Scale Armor, as well as a decorative Naga Trophy, and a considerable quantity of experience upon death. Upon death, the Advancement Naga Hunter will be given.
If the mod Immersive Engineering is installed, the Naga will also drop a Twilit Twilight Shader Grabbag and a Twilit Shader: Naga.
Progression[edit]
The Naga is the first boss in the Progression system, so neither it nor its Courtyard have any prerequisites or protections.
Defeating the Naga will mark the Beginning Phase of Progression, now allowing access to the Lich Tower and its Twilight Lich.
