Version 4.1.1096 (June 11, 2022)

ADDED:

  • Added Red Thread. This string-like item can be placed on any side of a block. When held, it will glow fullbright and be visible through other blocks. Helpful for markers or finding your way back home.
  • Block and Chain Goblins have a new animation where they drop the ball on death.
  • Improvements and changes for the Lich.
    • The Lich will now pop nearby mobs listed in a tag list (defaults are zombies, skeletons, spiders, creepers, endermen, and swarm spiders).
      • This mechanic has existed for a long time but was very broken.
      • Popping a mob will heal 1 heart.
      • The Lich will briefly hold the Scepter of Life Draining before popping a mob.
      • A stream of pink particles will connect the lich to the popped mob.
    • The Lich will now pop its minions in phase 2 if its health goes below 1/2.
      • Popped minions on phase 2 will heal the Lich the amount of health they had left.
      • A stream of purple particles will connect the lich to the popped minion.
  • Added red canopy mushroom variants.
  • Mushglooms can now be grown into their big variants when planted on Uberous Soil.
  • Brought back canopy oaks. These heavily populate the Dense Forests and can also be found in Oak Savannas.
  • Added a boss health bar for the Minoshroom.
  • Added a tag for ores the Ore Magnet should ignore.
  • Added a crafting recipes to clone Magic Maps and Maze Maps.
  • Added compatibility for Undergarden. You can now shoot our bugs from their slingshots!
  • Dispenders are now able to put Candles onto a skull to create a Skull Candle.
  • Added Curios compatibility for our charms, trophies, and bugs. This replaces the Baubles compatibility from previous versions.

CHANGED:

  • The Sortingwood Engine has been reworked.
  • The Sortingwood Engine is now compatible with any block that uses the IItemHandler capability. It also works with entities with the same capability, but only if they are whitelisted with the sortable entities tag.
    • The Sortingwood Engine now takes items from chests in its vicinity (5x5x5 area around the block) as input and transfers it into any inventory it finds in a 33x33x33 radius around itself.
    • It will only sort items to inventories that have at least one copy of that item, prioritizing inventories that have the most.
    • Any item being moved is accompanied by a green particle entering the same inventory.
  • The Zombie Scepter has been massively improved.
    • Zombie Scepters will now properly swing the player's hand when used.
    • Zombie Scepters will now play a sound when spawning a loyal zombie
    • Zombie Scepters will now properly check if a loyal zombie will survive in the place youre trying to put them.
    • Loyal Zombies no longer take burning damage after the timer is up. Instead, they will take 1 heart of damage every second.
    • Loyal Zombies can now have their 30 second expiration timer reset by feeding them rotten flesh. The timer can not exceed 30 seconds by feeding it multiple times.
    • Loyal Zombies now display a new death message if their timer kills them.
  • The Scepter of Life Draining has also recieved a facelift.
    • Mobs now explode into flesh particles on death via the scepter.
    • Mobs that die from the scepter will now drop a couple pieces of rotten flesh, unless they are in the twilighforest:lifedrain_drops_no_flesh tag.
    • Mobs that die from the scepter will now properly play their death sound.
  • Particles emitted from the scepter properly originate at the top of the scepter rather than the middle of the screen.
  • The Crumble Horn's target blocks and Transformation Powder targets are no longer hardcoded and can now be changed via datapacks.
  • Wearing Fiery Boots will now make you immune to Block of Fiery Metal damage.
  • You can now use your scrollwheel to move through recipes in the Uncrafting Table. Move your mouse to the relevant buttons and scroll away!
  • Reworked how Experiment 115 handles Comparator output. Each slice adds 1, regenerating adds 7 to the total. Connecting redstone between the e115 and a comparator in subtract mode will invert the signal for the slices eaten.
  • The Seeker Bow can now target players and prioritizes mobs that are targeting you.
  • Bugs will now be randomly rotated when placed instead of always facing the same way.
  • Changed all bosses to be immune to water slowdown.
  • Hydra bites will now ignore Shield blocking and severely damage a Shield.
  • Reduced the sprawl of Knight Strongholds. This should fix several bugs related to generating outside of its bounds and the boss room.
  • Death Tomes now actually fly instead of simply hovering.
  • The Minoshroom recieved some adjustments.
    • The Minoshroom's ground smash attack now has a cooldown.
    • The Minoshroom will now only do his ground smash attack when you are a maximum of 3 blocks away (changed from 7).
    • Lowered the Minoshroom's reach.
    • The Minoshroom now prioritizes his charge attack when you're out of reach and it now has a cooldown.
  • Trophies and Skull Candles player head sized and will unrender the player's head when worn.
  • Overhauled forcefields. Connections and placement are much better now.
  • Force fields now have more blockstates.
  • Changed spiral brick placement. Place them and finally preserve your sanity to boot!
  • The Questing Ram will now stay inside the grove instead of wandering off.
  • Players now respawn in the Twilight Forest on death when the "start in Twilight Forest" config option is enabled.
  • Block and Chain Goblin now have a cooldown on their throw attack.
  • Dark towers will now only generate vanilla Anvils.
  • Removed magic shields as universal advancement rewards.
  • Adjusted Tinkers' Construct part values to be more in-line with the latest version's balance.

FIXED:

  • Fixed the Ice Bow not being repairable.
  • Fixed Yetis being able to throw bosses.
  • Our wolved no longer extend vanilla wolves and will no longer break because of that.
  • Fixed bird wings being mistakenly clipped. They now properly fly again.
  • Items will no longer be lost on when pressing the Title Screen button on death when using the Charm of Keeping.
  • Fixed the Ender Bow not properly switching players and mounted mobs.
  • Fixed caskets not emitting light when lavalogged
  • The Knight Phantom advancement should now properly be granted after all are killed, not just one.
  • Fixed Liveroot stripping not swinging the player's hand.
  • kobolds eating bread will now properly display particles around their mouth instead of on top of their head.
  • Fixed the Cicada Jar sounds. Again.
  • Fixed The minoshroom sometimes spawning too early in the Labyrinth.
  • Fixed the Minoshroom's ground smash attack animation.
  • Fixed the root of the problem with tree root generation.
  • Fixed the Goblin Knight spear attack being broken in several ways.
  • Fixed the Questing Ram being unable to graze dropped wool off the ground.

  • Naga body segments now move fluidly along the ground and not through the ground.
  • Fixed Labyrinths missing some of their Bedrock walls.
  • The Protection Box render for structures is now once again a thing.
  • Fixed all maps crashing when mods invoke appendHoverText with a null level.
  • Fixed the canopy mushroom's blockstates.
  • Fixed a crash with Uberous Soil when attempting to grow a mushroom in bad conditions.
  • Fixed the Final Castle sometimes generating with an Oak Fence cage instead of a Violet Forcefield box.

Version 4.0.860

ADDED:

  • All TF mobs, blocks, and items now have unique subtitles
  • New death messages for block/mob kills - about 50 of them
  • TF saplings, mayapples, fiddleheads, mushglooms, and thorns(creative only) can be put in flower pots
  • Added some recipes to the stonecutter
  • 6-sided wood variants now have recipes (same as vanilla)
  • Added Cicada Jars
  • Right click a bug with a Glass Bottle to make a Jar of it
  • Shift right click a placed jar to separate the bug and bottle
  • Lamp of Cinders burns mobs around it when used

  • Certain things are now customizable through tags. These tags can be changed through a datapack. They are:
    • Portal edge blocks
    • Portal vegetation (the flowers that go around it)
    • Portal liquid
    • Valid trophy pedestal trophies
    • Fire jet fuel
    • Valid ore magnet ores
    • Cube of annihilation whitelist (adds things that normally cant be broken by it)
    • Antibuilder blacklist (things the antibuilder shouldnt mess with)
    • Carminite reactor blacklist (things the reactor cant replace)
    • Protected progression interaction (things that wont work while an area is protected by progression)
    • Special flower pots (used to tell the dark tower which potted plants wont generate in certain areas)
  • Added waterlogging to some non-full blocks
  • Added the Alpha Yeti Trophy
  • Added comparator support for the trophy pedestal
  • Added TF stripped logs and woods
  • Added baby skeleton druids: they will only spawn on swarm spiders. Your worst nightmare.
  • Added skull candles! right click a vanilla head to add a candle to it. You can light them, put them out, add up to 4, and pick them up with silk touch to keep the candles on it! The inventory model and a tooltip will also reflect how many candles it has if picked up. Skull candles can also support player skins, and can be lit with a dispenser!
  • Added Keepsake Caskets!
    • Caskets will store your items on death if you have one in your inventory.
    • Works with charms, so charms will be used first and then the casket will store everything else
    • Caskets have a 15% chance to damage on death and will be reflected through the texture.
    • Caskets have 3 stages before they break
    • You can use repair a casket by 1 level by right clicking with a charm of keeping 3.
    • When your casket breaks, you'll be notified in your chat.
    • Caskets have a config option to lock death caskets. These locked ones will only be openable by the player with a matching UUID (or server operators). Players that don't match wont be able to interact with or break that casket. Off by default, but there if needed.
    • Caskets spawned on death will have your username in the title so you know its yours!
    • Due to some names being very long, only the first 12 characters of a name are shown.
    • Caskets that spawn with your name will revert when mined up.
    • Caskets can be waterlogged and lavalogged, and can also be encased in other blocks!
    • FluidLogged caskets interact much like how vanilla fluids do, so caskets can be encased in obsidian, stone, and basalt.
    • Encased caskets cannot be opened, the only way to get the items back from them is to mine them
    • You will also get the block its encased in when you mine the casket
    • Unique sounds for opening, closing, and repairing the casket
    • Caskets are immune to explosions, and wont be destroyed by the wither or ender dragon
  • Added stone pillars! a new decorative block designed for the lich tower rework. Addicting to play with
  • Added canopy bookshelves and empty bookshelves! Beautiful decorative blocks for your house
  • Added death tome spawners! A canopy bookshelf that spawns a certain amount of death tomes before turning into an empty bookshelf. This block can be heavily configured so you can do what you want with it!
  • Added firefly particles to many of the forest biomes. The hope is to create a more calm atmosphere and add more life to the dimension
  • Added a firefly particle spawner! So you like the new particles, eh? Well now you can add this effect to your own home! A new craftable jar which has a configurable block radius that spawns firefly particles. To change it, add or remove fireflies from the jar. The max radius is 10. Bring you house to life!
  • Added the ability to harvest torchberries from torchberry plants and ripe trollber, finally
  • Torchberries are now edible! While they dont restore any hunger or saturation, they have a chance to make you glow! Useful for finding your friends when playing together.
  • Added potion flasks! These flasks come in 2 different versions, brittle and greater. Brittle will shatter after it becomes empty after being filled. Greater is unbreakable. Potion flasks fold 4 kinds of one potion, so it allows for easier storage of all the potions you may find in the lich tower!
  • You can now climb up root strands and bonemeal them! Bonemealing can happen on any part of the plant, and will grow downwards by 1 for each bonemeal used. Once it touches the ground it'll stop accepting bonemeal.
  • Added the ability to pick up e115 slices off the ground. Just shift right click it with an empty hand to pick it up. Doesnt work on regenerating ones.
  • Added wooden banisters! Every builder's dream block, go make some fancy rails or something idk
  • Added kobold pacification. Throw a piece of bread to a kobold to pacify it for a short time
  • Added TF banner patterns! craft a trophy with a piece of paper to make a banner pattern for that boss!
  • Added candelabras! These fancy candle holders can be placed on walls and floors. Can also be lit with a dispenser.
  • Added new wells! Theres also a fancy well variant that has a chance to replace a normal well, with unique loot!
    • Basic wells also have a new loot table
  • Added recipes to turn waterlilies into magenta dye, and thorn roses into red
  • Added TF music discs! You can now play all your favorite tracks from the comfirt of your own home. These discs are randomly scattered throughout the TF, goo luck finisng them...
  • Added vanilla and TF mob interactions!
    • Cats and Ocelots will attack Dwarf Rabbits, Squirrels, and Tiny Birds.
    • Foxes will attack Dwarf Rabbits and Squirrels.
    • Wolves will attack Dwarf Rabbits, Squirrels, and Bighorns
  • Added a toast system to remind people that a biome is locked. This will hint to check your advancements. This toast will show up once after entering a locked biome then wont until you enter a new locked biome.
  • Added custom TF stats! The current stats are:
    • Bugs squished
    • Uncrafting table interactions
    • Trophy pedestals activated
    • E115 slices eaten
    • Torchberries harvested
    • Blocks crumbled
    • Charms of life activated
    • Charms of keeping activated
    • Skull candles made
    • Fortification shields broken
  • Added a way to lock TF portal creation behind an advancement! this is configureable via config, and is off by default.
  • Added mangrove roots!
  • Added a couple new advancement triggers!
    • `twilightforest:drink_from_flask`: you need to define the amount of doses and what potion you need to drink. Currently has to be done in 8 seconds or less
    • `twilightforest:kill_bug`: must define the bug. happens when a player squishes a bug with a projectile (anvils dont count! I cant read the player that placed them, sorry!)
  • Added cicada jars to worldgen. They will rarely replace firefly jars on trees and lampposts.
  • Added a method to get quartz in the TF! It has something to do with the dark tower...
  • Added TF wood chests! craft them by surrounding any other chest with the appropriate plank type to get 2 of them. These all have very unique textures!
  • Added hollow logs! These work as normal logs with placement but can be filled with various things! Horizontal ones take Snow, moss, grass, and can even be waterlogged! Vertical ones can take vines and ladders and can be waterlogged!
  • Added a more flexible system to the uncrafting table! You can now disable certain recipes, items from being in recipes, or items from being uncrafted. Recipes are a config option, while the other 2 are tags.
  • New enchantments! There are 5 new enchantments, all being loot exclusive. They are:
    • Fire React: has a chance to set the attacker on fire when worn. Incompatible with chill aura and thorns.
    • Chill Aura: has a chance to apply frosted to the attacker. Incompatible with fire react and thorns.
    • Preservation: for the block and chain. Allows for the block and chain to only be used as a weapon, disabling the ability to break blocks. Incompatible with Block Strength and Destruction.
    • Block Strength: allows the block and chain to break stronger blocks. Tier 1 allows you to break mazestone, and tier 3 allows you to break castle bricks. (this may change in the future!) Incompatible with Preservation and Destruction.
    • Destruction: allows the block and chain to break larger areas of blocks. Incompatible with Preservation and Block Strength.
  • Added JEI support for uncrafting recipes (thanks Jodlodi!)
  • Added custom particles to each boss spawner, making them more unique.
  • Added the underbrick floor as a stonecutting recipe
  • Added a config option to disable uncrafting all items from a specified mod if desired

CHANGED:

  • Environment Overhaul - more flowers and trees, makes the forest feel more like a forest

  • Peacock feather fan can now push mobs when in a dispenser

  • Hoes now have enchantments since theyre more useful
  • The creative tab was reorganized a bit, hopefully it should be easier to navigate
  • Fiery, arctic and yeti armor prevent freezing
  • Questing ram rewards now sit in a bundle (minus the horn)
  • Hollow hills will no longer spawn as perfect, smooth hills, some unevenness will be applied to them
  • Mixed rooted and coarse dirt into cave ceilings
  • Made thorn roses able to be placed anywhere
  • Liveroots can now be stripped, leaving behind a root block and giving you a liveroot.
  • Changed how dark leaves function. Dark forest trees have remianed the same, hard to break with a high blast resistance. However, if you grow a darkwood tree, the leaves will decay and can be mined faster with a hoe! They still have the same strength and blast res as the other ones though, but it should be easier to farm darkwood now!
  • Updated TF leaves to use the azalea leaf sounds, as its so much nicer.
  • Beanstalks will now poke through clouds, and will leave a nice air pocket to allow for easier climbing.
    • Beanstalks will also ignore blocks that are blocking them so you wont get beanstalk discs. However they will still stop if they hit a cave wall or ceiling
  • Uberous soil will now sparkle if a player is holding magic beans, to indicate to use them there.
  • Mangrove leaves are now waterloggable
  • Phantom armor can now refuse enchants in a certain tag
  • Made beanstalks axis rotatable
  • Redid knightmetal tool bonus damage.
    • If an entity is wearing armor, deal 2 additional damage
    • For each additional piece of armor, deal 1 more damage
    • The axe will only work if the target has no armor of any kind. This includes internal armor values! So the axe wont deal the bonus on zombies.
  • Tripwired Chest Rooms in the Labyrinth host unstable TNT. Watch your fists!
  • Structures will now properly bury and deform terrain in a nice way. No more strange square edges around the naga courtyard!
  • Bugs will no longer die on your head
  • When bugs die their guts will spray everywhere. Gross!
  • Progression advancements will grant to every player who participated in the fight. Even if you die and respawn at home, as long as the boss took damage from you, you wills till gain the advancement! Hopefully this will help servers out.
  • The lich will absorb mobs in a tag now. This used to be hardcoded but can now be configured.
  • Completely redid fallen log generation! They can now generate with hollow logs, some versions are biome exclusive, and some will now generate on water, either sunken or floating! Sunken logs will generate sea grass instead of moss on top.
  • TF bosses will now place a chest containing their loot when killed. This change also allows looting to work on the ur-ghast!
  • Fortification shields now have a timer in between breaks. It follows the same rule as attack cooldown works on the player.
  • Ice bombs can now be shot from dispensers
  • Projectiles can now break burnt thorns
  • Ice bombs will now add snow layers to existing ones in the world
  • Redid the way the moonworm queen is repaired. Each torchberry will now add back 64 durability
  • Gave the trophy pedestal a bounding box that actually fits it

FIXED:

  • A gazillion bugs!
  • Fixed Carminite Reactor being able to break blocks it shouldnt
  • Fixed darkwood saplings not being able to be grown below y=30
  • Fixed a nasty dupe with the uncrafting table
  • Fixed some tf items ignoring ftb chunk claiming
  • TF plants now have proper hitboxes, rather than taking up a full block
  • Removed the ability to enchant scepters
  • Fixed lifedrain scepters targeting armor stands
  • Banned enchants from moonworm queen, ore magnet, and the lamp of cinders
  • Cicadas will now shut up when theyre removed from the world
  • Seeker bow now prioritizes hostile mobs, and wont try to target things it couldnt possibly hit, like mobs behind walls
  • Fixed moss to make it like how it was in 1.7. The shape is now always random and will connect to other moss blocks nearby. This also apples to clover patches.
  • Legacy entity models are finally supported! changing to the legacy pack will now properly show the old entity models.
  • Castle brick runes will now glow without the need for CTM

Version 4.0.435 (April 23, 2021)

ADDED:

Version 4.0.426 (April 9, 2021)

CHANGES:

  • Improved performance of multipart entities slightly.
  • Tweaked some Feature generation, should help Hollow Oaks to break less often.
