Just beyond the spiny Thornlands is the Final Plateau, the highest point yet recorded by Twilight Forest explorers. In stark contrast to the rest of the dimension though, there is virtually no vegetation and animals seem to avoid this barren wasteland. Even the ground itself consists only of an incredibly hard variety of rock known as Deadrock, which appears to have been weathered utterly bare by the acid rain that poured over the mountaintop. The occasional Stalagmite and Monolith have been spotted on the Plateau, suggesting that this depressing landscape was not always this way.

Dominating over the land is the incomprehensibly vast, awe-inspiring Final Castle. Given the trials and tribulations required to finally walk in the shadow of this huge structure, surely there are answers to be found as to the purpose of this place. Why is it here? Why are all the other creatures that hold dominion in the Twilight Forest inexplicably linked to it? Sadly, those few explorers that have made it this far report nothing but vast empty halls of dust, glowing runes, strange force fields barring their way and little else. Perhaps the former owner will return some day to claim his right to rule once more, and not just over this castle, but over the entire Twilight Forest itself...

Progression

Along with the Twilight Highlands and the Thornlands that surround the Plateau, there is an incessant, toxic acid rainstorm that pours over the mountains. It will only lift when the Hydra, Ur-Ghast, and Snow Queen have been defeated. The razor sharp Thorns are another matter, however. Anyone who wishes to gain access will need to acquire a powerful Lamp of Cinders in order to burn a path through the thorns in order to reach the summit.
