Deeper into the Dark Forest is the Dark Forest Center, where the leaves turn red and the grass is a pale yellow. Are the trees under the effect of a magical autumn, or is it the influence of the colossal tower that stands at its heart? In the center of this biome stands the Dark Tower, an ominous structure stretching into the clouds with strange devices and puzzles. This biome is identical to the Dark Forest, as it spawns similar monsters such as King Spiders and Mist Wolves.
Where the biome is shrouded in darkness, monsters such as Mist Wolves and King Spiders will spawn, though other monsters such as Zombies and Skeletons will not spawn on the surface.

The Dark Forest Center is a densely vegetated forest that blocks most light from the forest floor. The foliage in this biome has a dark orange color, and the forest floor grows various mushrooms and tall grass. One notable feature of the biome is that it is not entirely covered from the sky, where the center of the biome has a small opening.

Where the biome is shrouded in darkness, monsters such as Mist Wolves and King Spiders will spawn, though other monsters such as Zombies and Skeletons will not spawn on the surface.

When viewed from a Magic Map, the Dark Forest Center will only appear in one of four corners of the visible map area, surrounded by the Dark Forest.

Progression[edit]

The Dark Forest Center is locked by Progression, creating a barrier of black tendrils that inflict the player with Darkness, making progression through the biome difficult.

In order to unlock the Dark Forest Center, the Knight Phantoms must be defeated. This will clear the Darkness-inflicting effect as well as removing structure protection from the Dark Tower.

As well as being locked by Progression, the Dark Forest Center is also key to progressing to the Twilight Highlands, however it also requires completing the Fire Swamp and Glacier.
