The Highlands are high plateaus covered in birch trees and giant spruce trees. The ground is a mixture of Podzol, Coarse Dirt and Grass, similar to the Mega Taiga biome in vanilla Minecraft. Typically, no other structures generate here, except for the Progression structures.
Several challenges await the intrepid adventurers in the Highlands. First, the Troll Caves run deep through the earth, harboring underground life and treasure. Second, Cloud Cottages float above the Highlands, with Giants making their home atop these cloud formations.
Progression
With the Progression system, the Highlands is protected by a toxic rainstorm. Defeating the Snow Queen will lift the storm across the whole of the Highlands biome, including the biomes in the center.
