Also, progression is locked *by default* and is configurable, not sure how we want to mention this on the page. They are not magical spawners, just regular ol' spawners from the minecraft universe (for now...))

The Lich Tower is a major landmark tied to Progression. It is a tall structure with sprawling branches of smaller rooms, comprised of Stone Bricks and Birch Planks. At the top of the Lich Tower is a Boss Spawner containing the Twilight Lich.

The Lich Tower consists of a single central spire, from which many smaller towers and chambers jut out haphazardly from the sides, connecting directly into the next tower or via bridge. Inside, a double staircase spirals up from bottom to top, allowing access to these antechambers. The staircases are damaged and contain holes within them, creating a fall hazard. Atop the Lich Tower resides the Twilight Lich in a room heavily decorated in Paintings and a wooden chandelier above.

The smaller tower rooms come in a variety of arrangements. Some rooms are vast libraries, while others contain only a staircase with a single ornament in the center of the room. Some rooms have been found filled with Iron Bars, while other rooms may contain unusual decorations such as cactus. These rooms often generate with multiple floors and offshoots.

Numerous hostile mobs spawn in the Lich Tower normally or through spawners. The usual assortment of vanilla mobs such as Zombies, Skeletons, and Creepers naturally spawn. Rarely, an Enderman or a Witch can spawn. Through spawners, Zombies, Skeletons, and Swarm Spiders can spawn. The Death Tome also spawns in the Lich Tower, and is the only structure to find this mob.

Loot[edit]

The Lich Tower contains two loot tables, one is for library-type rooms, and the other for any other room in the Lich Tower. Both chest loot tables contain a "useless" loot table with a weight of 25 across each item.

The first loot table contains various brewed potions and enchanted equipment. Among other things, it also contains various items useful for brewing such as Sugar Cane or Glass Bottles, and items uncommonly found around Twilight Forest such as Clay Balls and Fire Charges. This loot table is most commonly found in rooms featuring Bookshelves.

The second loot table contains many more valuable items. These range from enchanted equipment and brewed potions to rare treasure items, such as the Moonworm Queen, Peacock Feather Fan, Transformation Powder, Charm of Keeping I, and Charm of Life I.

Progression[edit]

The Lich Tower is locked by Progression, creating a barrier of green-yellow squares that prevent blocks from breaking and protecting mobs within the barrier.

In order to unlock the Lich Tower, the Naga must be defeated. This will clear the structure protection surrounding the Lich Tower.

As well as being locked by Progression, the Lich Tower is also key to unlocking three other biomes and structures:

Use as a Base or Home[edit]

The Lich Tower can, provided that it has been conquered fully, be used as a fully-functional base. The libraries have more than enough bookshelves to fully activate an Enchanting Table, and the empty rooms can easily be converted into farms. The Lich Tower will need some repairs to make it completely safe for habitation, such as repairing the main staircases to prevent any falls, and removal of all spawners to prevent monsters from invading. The Tower will also need to be heavily lit up, as there are many nooks and crannies that can attract unwanted creatures if not sufficiently lit. The many treasure chests found throughout the tower provide ample storage space. Lastly, the tower is also high enough to provide a view for miles from the top.

Advantages[edit]

  • Preconstructed Enchanting rooms.
  • Chests are already there for storage.
  • Excellent view - most Lich Towers are as tall as the Robust Twilight Oak Trees.
  • Plenty of resources to be found within, particularly Potions.
  • The Lich's room can be re-made into a mob grinder, using the four-way water and dark area grinder method.
  • No traps, unlike the Labyrinth or Dark Tower.

Disadvantages[edit]

  • Needs to be lit up heavily, using plenty of light-emitting resources.
  • Broken stairways will need to be repaired.
  • Very real possibility of falling to death.
  • Can be confusing to navigate (though a long-term stay will likely lessen this).
  • Several of the blocks that make up the towers' structure are infested with Silverfish.
  • Pre-inhabiting monsters pose a threat to anyone trying to take over the tower, though with proper planning they will pose little problem.
