Rising out of the otherwise flat terrain of the Twilight Forest, '''Hollow Hills''' are conspicuous mounds of dirt that conceal a vast hollow cave packed with stalactites and stalagmites, some of which are formed with precious ores and minerals. Explorers have found these large dome-shaped hills in three distinct sizes, large enough to be detected and marked on a [[Magic Map]], with an appropriate icon indicating its size. Some hills have been found to have other caves and ravines cutting into them, so those adventurers tunneling beneath the earth may find themselves inside one of these hills in their explorations.

If you survey the relatively flat ground of the Twilight Forest, you may notice these dome-shaped hills. Beneath the stone shell, the hills are hollow, filled with stone and ore stalactites and stalagmites.</span>
Hollow Hills are an excellent source of ores to be mined and treasures to be looted, with the more valuable loot contained in the larger hills. The treasure to be found tend to be guarded by the dangerous creatures abound in the darkness, which can easily spell the doom of an unwary explorer. Unfortunately, it also seems that the larger the hill, the more creatures that live there. Explorers should remember the basic rules of caving, and never tunnel directly down into a Hollow Hill; instead, approach from the side and bring plenty of light sources to illuminate the interior as various spawners are around every corner.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,serif;">These are the most common landmark in the Twilight Forest, and they come in three different sizes. The Larger the hill, the more valuable ores and treasures, but also more challenging monsters.</span>
Small hills measure approximately 30 metres across and usually contain the basic minerals such as {{mcw|Coal Ore|Coal}}, {{mcw|Iron Ore|Iron}}, with {{mcw|Redstone Ore|Redstone}} and {{mcw|Glowstone|Glowstone}} occasionally being found. Explorers can expect to find a couple of treasure chests containing common tools and items such as food, arrows, ladders and torches, but rarely, a valuable [[Ore Magnet]] may be found along with a {{mcw|Diamond|Diamond}} and [[Steeleaf]]. [[Swarm Spider]]s, [[Redcap Goblin]]s and [[Kobold]]s reside in these hills, with other creatures common to the Overworld as well.

Monsters include Spiders, Zombies, Skeletons, Silverfish, [[Swarm Spider|Swarm Spiders]], [[Redcap Goblin|Redcap Goblins]] and [[Kobold|Kobolds]]. There are typically 2 treasure chests, which usually have fairly common items, such as Buckets, [[Ore Magnet|Ore Magnets]] or Torches, but may rarely have a Diamond or [[Steeleaf]] or two.</span>

Coal, Iron, Redstone, Gold, and Lapis can be found among the stalactites and rarely you may find some diamonds and emeralds. Up to 6 treasure chests can be nestled among the stalagmites. Monsters include Zombies, Skeletons, Spiders, Creepers, Swarm Spiders, Redcap Goblins, Kobolds, and [[Fire Beetle|Fire Beetles]]. Treasures are more valuable and could include [[Ironwood|Ironwood Ingot]], as well as unique and rare treasures like the [[Transformation Powder]], [[Moonworm Queen]], [[Uncrafting Table]], and the [[Peacock Feather Fan]].</span>
